to instill spirit, discipline, respect, and humility.

spirit, discipline, respect, and humility.

About PHYF

Our foundation prides itself in helping at-risk youths build discipline, confidence and an inner, positive spirit by learning martial arts and new skills that will not only benefit them, but also their communities.

In a safe and controlled group setting surrounded by their peers, kids in our program will have the opportunity to interact with others their age, and to build their social abilities as they learn new and exciting skills.

We also teach our youths the responsibility of giving back to their community by doing community projects.

Past projects we have done are beach cleanups, and working with Hawaii County, local artists, and the community to paint a beautiful ocean mural for bathroom facilities at a beach in Keaukaha.

Martial arts, is a skill that builds hand to hand combative knowledge, enriches the lives of those who learn it—as it prompts cooperation, restraint, and being humble.
This is what The Penn Hawaii Youth Foundation is about.

At-risk youth are selected, evaluated, and then referred to our program, based on their circumstances, by the non-profit or public agency they are affiliated with.
The Penn Hawaii Youth Foundation is now accepting at-risk youths from the following non-profits/public agencies: The Salvation Army, Keala Pono, Hale Kipa, Lanakila Learning Center, and Honokaʻa Girls Home.
